Control Unit - Absolute & Relative Positioning
The control unit allows absolute and relative positioning and each adjustment
can be stored. The absolute positioning offers you advantages when working with
one certain combination of tool and cutting result, such as the window profile
for IV 68 (German style profile). You just need to store the positions of the
arbor and the fence – it’s so simple!
Absolute Positioning
Height: position of the cutter arbor in the arbor
bearing
Depth: position of fence front to the centre of the arbor
Example: Window profile for IV 68 (German style
profile) is adjusted. The indicated dimensions of spindle
position and fence position are memorised. Combined with
the ring inserted under the tool a clearly determined cutting
result is achieved.
Applications: fix combination of tool and cutting
result, e.g. used for manufacturing tilt and turn window
and entrance door frames etc.
The relative positioning is very useful
when different tasks can be done with one and the same tool,
e.g. a rebate tool. You store once the position of the tool when
its flush in reference with the machine table and the fence.
You can now work according to the dimensions of your drawings.
Relative Positioning
Height: position of tool to table surface (reference
plane height)
depth: position of fence front (reference plane depth) to the
tool’s cutting-edge-circle
Example: The first step is to determine the absolute
positions of the inserted tool (e.g. rebate tool) so that
the tool’s height and depth of cut are even with the
reference planes. A further step is to use these dimensions
as a basis for relative positioning based on the position
0. You can now work with drawing dimensions.
Application: variable combination of tool and cutting
result
Tilting
Arbor
The T26 DuoControl offers you additionally the full range of functionality of
a tilting arbor shaper. The arbor is tilted electrically according to the digital
readout. The indications of the tilting angle and the compensation value for
the fence enable perfect working results at tilted arbor.
Motor-driven Fence
The motor-driven fence can be detached in an instant, e.g. for ring fence work,
and can be quickly remounted after work. With the additional swinging support,
the fence can be swung to the rear without any great effort. T26
Customisation
DORNFIX
The DORNFIX system, a quick arbor changing system developed by Martin, comes
with the basic machine and allows effortless changes of arbors and tools within
seconds. Thus the set-up time can be reduced to a minimum.
